Make money at home SMALL work from home business vs BIG never see home business

I think business is great. In fact I believe that business is the catalyst for all growth. Don't take my word for it, look at your life and you will see that everything you perceive as good comes from business. Business provides you with the vehicle for freedom, joy and growth which is the path to make the earth a better place.

Business, ethics, integrity, these principles allowed us to expand from barter traders to entrepreneurs and from entrepreneurs to what? What, is up to you, because you are business.

What do I mean by you are business? If you don't buy what business offers, business is out of business. Unfortunately, because there are so many of us BIG business seems to have forgotten that you are their business.

In business school these days they seem to be teaching students more about how to manipulate the system, and you, than why business exists or what makes a business last. The education system in the United States has produced a whole new breed of Business School trained executives, whose loyalty is to finance and the manipulation of investments; who feel no obligation to be familiar with a company’s employees, product, manufacturing process or customers.

There are exceptions, however, normally BIG equals bureaucracy and bureaucracy equals mediocrity. In a bureaucracy the cream does not usually rise to the top. The bureaucracy has forgotten that you are business, they have come to believe that they are business. It appears BIG business leaders don't give “you” that much thought. BIG is interested in business.

Let's talk SMALL. Small businesses, whether they are home based businesses, some franchises, a direct selling business or something in between, allow you to have a life, family experience, feeling of community with all the freedom, joy and growth that you are here to enjoy. That is why I like home based businesses, particularly, networking businesses, because that is what they do.

The ancient business pioneers were satisfied when business reached the point where farming, barter, trade allowed the formation of relationships that provided communities with a stable platform from which you could work together to make the earth a better place. As things were needed, someone in the community or a neighboring community developed it. When you found a product that you liked or worked for your health you shared it with your community and others. You cared about each other.

And that's exactly what happens when you are dealing with a person, a friend, family member or associate. However, you are taught, by BIG business, to pay more attention to an actor dressed up like a doctor than to a friend or relative that talks to you, face to face. BIG has convinced you that when you look at the media (T.V., Internet, Newspapers, etc.) you are dealing with a person. You are not, you are dealing with a business that wants to sell you something and wants you to perceive that it is helping you.

How does a home based business work? The majority of the 100+ Billion dollar direct selling industry is based on providing you a unique product or service directly from family, friends and associates. Home based businesses are a business model that allows you to have a life while you earn income.

Universities, the media, your parents and friends keep relying on the BIG business model even after the Savings and Loan mess, Dot com melt down, Bank failures, Real Estate debacle, etc. all caused by “traditional” business practices.

Heaven forbid that you start a home based business. Even though, while banks are failing and real estate is tumbling, small and home based businesses, which represent 50% of the Gross National Product, continue to provide more and more people with freedom and financial independence.

Find a home based business you like and begin to enjoy the freedom, joy and growth that it can bring to you.

Meet Janet Callaway

Ever heard of Janet Callaway? Unless you are part of her downline I doubt that you have had the pleasure. She is a self styled network marketing personal coach. She teaches, trains, motivates and enjoys working with her downline, and some lucky crossline adoptees, personally.

Janet is like a lot of home based business owners who discover networking through a fabulous product experience and then become industry evangelists. When I say industry evangelist I mean someone who believes in the industry, studies it and spreads the message by word and deed.

The word that she spreads is retention. Janet, like many other leaders in the industry realizes that retention is the backbone of our business.

What has retention got to do with network marketing sales? Retention, as it relates to network marketing, is like brand loyalty in mainstream marketing. Major mainstream companies spend millions advertising their products in order to establish brand recognition. And then they spend millions more attempting to establish brand loyalty. Every time you buy, they want you to buy their product.

Network marketing companies don't advertise. They pay independent distributors, like Janet, to spread the word about their products. The network marketing company relies on the individual distributor to tell the story about their product or service. Unfortunately, most distributors don't realize that in the network marketing industry the products are not the issue, the industry is the issue.

Here's where people like Janet come in. They teach their downlines about the industry as well as how to share the products as they build a business. Even if a new distributor has some success selling products, if they don't know how to build a networking business based on personal loyalty and industry credibility, they will most likely end up leaving your company looking for the next magic bullet. Retaining distributors and their customers is what network marketing personal trainers do for the industry.

While you need a great product and a great company without a business system that you can share with your downline you will not enjoy the retention that ensures the residual income that makes our industry so attractive.

So, you have a system. Why is a personal coach so important? We are all different. There is no “one program fits all.” We have different goals, are motivated individually, react to situations based on our unique personality. A personal coach works with you to develop a system that will take our individual styles into account yet that can be duplicated.

As an example Janet teaches 4 simple steps to success:

  • The first step is to articulate and commit to writing your commitment to success. What are you willing to do to attain success?

  • The second step is to write down the reasons that you want to be successful. Very important.

  • The third is to layout out your specific plan for success. What is your step by step agenda to accomplish the things you are willing to do in step #1 above?

  • The fourth step is to commit to be accountable to someone as you implement your plan.

Sounds pretty simple and it is, however, you would be amazed at the people who jump into our industry without a plan or a coach, fail and blame the industry, their sponsor, their friends and family who would not listen to them, etc.

My point here is whether you are an experienced fabulous recruiter or new to the industry you want to meet a Janet Callaway, if you want to experience retention and get off of the endless recruiting treadmill. I did!

Survive and Prosper in this Baffling Economy

What's up with the economy? We hear that the worst is over and then a friend calls that they have just been laid-off.

Friends it's a wake-up call. Big business has failed us. Not only have they failed us, they don't seem to “Get It” that they failed us. How do we survive and prosper? Home based businesses like this http://janetc.mymangosteen.com/@4f8d2 .

During the last economic melt down, I forget if it as the dot com, savings and loan, bank bailout or what but the government decided to give us some great tax incentives to be a home base business person. I'm not going to go into that ask your tax person, however, make sure your tax person understands home based businesses and their tax advantages.

What I'm going to talk about is change. There is an old saying “If you continue to do what you have always done you will continue to get what you have always got.” Be flexible, open to change, aware of the opportunities that the universe presents to you – every day.

I know its scary. I know you were not taught anything about business in high school or college. I also know that once you change, that is change your attitude about business, you will never turn back.

Did you know that business can be fun? That's right fun! Ever thought that it would be fun to be in business with your friends and people you enjoyed rather than strangers that you are thrown together with because of a pay check?

When you leverage your income and the income of your friends, it's fun. Thats what networking home based businesses are all about. And you can start a home based business with very little up front capital. When I say very little I mean less than $50.

What kind of business can you start for less than $50? An Internet marketing, direct selling or network marketing business. These 3 categories represent thousands of opportunities and BILLIONs of dollars in annual sales. My favorite is network marketing.

I don't have a cheeky definition for Network Marketing (MLM). To me it provides all the advantages of the original franchise concept without the heavy initial investment and employees required of a typical franchise. It is simply the the most cost effective way for “we the people” to make money.

A network marketing company will create a product, do all the administrative record keeping, manufacturing, warehousing, shipping and customer service while you, the independent distributor, only pay a fee to join, usually less than joining Costco, and spend your energy building a wholesale business, much like a wholesale buying club, and an organization of business builders you want to work with.

A misconception that many seem to have is that network marketing is more like a chain letter than a business. Network marketing, like any business, requires an investment in time and money to make it work. Just like any business you have to select the right product that is priced to sell and sell it.

Unless you are an seasoned Internet affiliate marketing or network marketing professional you are probably not going to make millions. However, you can certainly make whatever income you establish as a resonable goal for you.

Do not let others set the standards about how much money you should have— or about what you should do with it. you are the only one who can accurately define that. Come into alignment with what you want from your home based business and allow the opportunities that life presents to you to help you attain you goals.

Sometimes people take a short term view of their home based business. At times, on the Internet and in network marketing, some people consider selling taking advantage of others for a short term gain. Don't do that! Don't prey on each other, help each other. Find yourself a good company and build your business around it.

We will surface from these challenging times stronger than ever. And when we do you will have built your own business from which you will never be laid off.

Do you contact Family and Friends?

You've just joined the greatest networking company in the universe. You're excited, euphoric, anxious to spread the word about the great product you have to offer. So, do you contact family and friends?

Of course! However, not until you have a business plan and belief in the industry.

Many of your sponsors will tell you that your enthusiasm will cause people to want to join you. They will tell you that people hear your music not your words. And that's true for most people, however, it does not hold true for your family and friends.

Why should you wait when you've most likely had a great product experience and are confident in your ability to convince your family and friends that this is the greatest thing since sliced bread?

First off, your family and friends do not know you as a sliced bread supplier, they know you as little Johnny or Mary no matter how old or experienced you may be. In addition, you probably don't know anything about the 100+ BILLION Direct Selling/Networking industry.

It doesn't matter that many of the most natural, cutting edge, efficacious products come from this industry. The mainstream bureaucracy (media, government, education and health care) constantly bombard your family and friends with propaganda indicating that the cutting edge products and services provided by the networking community are not comparable to, let's say, to the products that an actor, posing as a doctor, present to them through massive and sophisticated advertising campaigns.

It's amazing to me that friends, family or associates can recommend a product to family, friends and associates that they have personally experienced and that recommendation will not carry as much weight as a slick ad.

It must be that most people do not realize that the media, government, education, health care industry are all businesses. They all want your money, attention, loyalty in exchange for the products and/or services they provide.

Yes, direct selling/network marketing is also a business, a real business, a 100+ BILLION dollar a year business. And, by the way, a great business. A networking marketing company takes care of all the paper work, manufacturing, warehousing, shipping, customer service, etc. allowing the distributor freedom to personally share the product with and take care of their customers. Sounds simple! Then why do so many people fail?

Because new distributors don't realize that they are starting a business. Even if a new distributor has some success selling products, if they don't know how to build a networking business based on personal loyalty and industry credibility, they will most likely end up leaving the industry.

While, in my opinion, to be successful in the Direct Selling/Networking industry, you need a great product and a great company you also need a business system that you can share with the customers who will become your downline. You will not enjoy the retention that ensures the residual income that makes the industry so attractive if you do not understand the business you are in and have a system in place to train and support your people.

For those of you using the Internet as a sales channel pay close attention to the “attraction” marketing methods now being taught. In effect people are being taught that they should not approach their social network until you have a relationship – have become friends. The theory is that once you have contributed, offered solutions to their problems, earned their trust and confidence they will come to you – their friend.

It is true that people buy from people they like and trust even if that person is an actor posing as a doctor in a slick ad. My point is that you have friends, family and associates who can make up the core of your business, however, you do not want to contact them until you understand the industry that can bring you and your family freedom, joy and growth.

Contact me if I can help you.

Where does the concept “Attraction Marketing” come from?

I love this topic!

Attraction marketing is a term that originates from the universal law of attraction as brought to us by Esther and Jerry Hicks through Abraham. Yep, it's a metaphysical concept so accepted by the “main stream” that it is now a respected marketing philosophy.

Ever heard of “The Secret?” The concept of attraction marketing was popularized by the release of “The Secret” DVD. If you haven't seen the DVD you should.

However, once you see it you should also get your hands on “The Secret Behind The Secret.” You will be introduced to Esther, Jerry and Abraham Hicks. From there I would suggest you go all the way back to “The Law of Attraction” by Jerry and Esther Hicks.

Basically the concept of attraction marketing is drawing you into a vibrational state that you are compatible with the market you have created and that is waiting for you to join it. Your market is there waiting for you to offer yourself, your product, your message, whatever you have. All you have to do is become a vibrational match to that market and it is yours.

O.K.; what does that mean?

The universe and our world within the universe is an abundant place. It is not full of lack, hate, fear, as represented by the establishment and established media. It is a place full of freedom, joy, growth and abundance for you. It is all about you.

Attraction marketing is you coming into vibrational alignment with the freedom, joy and growth that is you.

One of the companies that I work with has a product that allows us to make money while we, through the company, do incredible things for children worldwide. Yet, many people do not participate. Remember, they are earning money not spending per se, why wouldn't a person become involved?

I believe that people do not become involved in this product and things like this in general because they are listening to the main stream establishment, particularly the main stream media tell them about lack. Lack of money, integrity, potential, caring, opportunities and on, and on, and on. While all the while there is no lack at all.

Attraction marketing can help you find yourself, if you are looking. It can also make you very disconnected if you don't know what it is and why you are doing it. My advice is to learn a little about Esther and Jerry Hicks and a lot about The Law of Attraction.
